The Polish Restaurant Cambridge
About This Spot
Step inside The Polish Restaurant Cambridge and you’re welcomed by a quietly comforting atmosphere that feels less like a commercial spot and more like a cherished family kitchen. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle in and savor the simple, timeless rhythms of a meal shared with care. The gentle hum of conversation blends seamlessly with the warm, homely décor — a setting that echoes the heartfelt gatherings found in Polish homes, where food is both a memory and celebration.
The culinary experience here quietly unfolds through familiar textures and flavours that reassure and delight. The kitchen offers hearty dumplings and golden potato pancakes that arrive steaming and generous, each bite wrapped in a sense of tradition and attentive craftsmanship. Plates of schnitzel and slow-cooked stews speak of recipes handed down, cooked until tender and rich with layers of history. Seasonal vegetables and well-loved soups like borscht add pops of colour and comfort, completing meals that satisfy on more than just a physical level.
There is an honest charm in the way dishes here evoke the warmth of homemade meals, underscored by the friendly attentiveness of the team, who treat guests like old friends welcomed through the door. The intimate scale of the restaurant, free from the noise of background music, encourages genuine connection and quiet moments of reflection over a shared meal. Whether dining in or picking up a well-prepared takeaway, there’s a clear impression that authenticity isn’t just about ingredients — it’s about the love and intention woven into the experience.
For those familiar with Eastern European flavours or simply curious to explore them in a humble, welcoming space, The Polish Restaurant Cambridge offers a rare slice of everyday comfort, a place where good food and kindness meet along Chesterton Road.

Such a wonderful polish restaurant. The cuisine is authentic and the menu is very extensive. The owner kindly accommodated us for dinner despite not having a reservation. The meal was served piping hot and was very tasty. The portions are generous and the restaurant is reasonably priced. The ambience and Decor is homely. The restaurant is very clean. It is intimate and there is no music playing constantly in the background which makes the restaurant even more enjoyable. I am grateful for such a lovely evening here. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is family friendly.

It was a fantastic discovery! We were looking for a place just to have dinner on Friday evening but have found an amazing place we all sure we will come back to! Delicious traditional food - feels like homemade. Great pierogies, plackies, schnitzel and stew! Buckwheat!! Borscht!!! Atmosphere like you are visiting your grandma - cozy and warm. Definitely worth visiting Then you will have no chance not to come back :)

My first time in a Polish restaurant and it was splendid. Nice music, excellent customer service and delicious food. Had some great tea as well. I highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Nice food, friendly staff and does food to go. Popular with Polish people and locals which is a good sign. We stop off especially as coming past Cambridge on the way back to Norwich. Wasn't disappointed. Will go back when in the area.

Absolutely fantastic Polish restaurant in Cambridge! The food was delicious, authentic, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented — it truly felt like a taste of home. The service was outstanding as well — friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine Polish cuisine and a warm dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This place is very warm and cosy. They have a lunch set which we didn’t aware of, but they still help us to make change to our order. Only boiled dumplings available, wish they will do pan fried as well.

As an Eastern European I would recommend this place. Good food and services at fair prices. The restaurant looked clean and tidy when I visited it. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. I would recommend to book your table in advance as you might not be lucky to find a free one. Overall it was worth it.
